What's included

Deck days

Full school days aboard the smack and in the galleries: ropework, navigation and a crew drill to finish. Teachers go free.

Young sailors' club

Saturday mornings for ages 8–14: model building, chart reading and harbour expeditions with the education crew.

Loans & outreach

Object boxes, charts and a travelling lighthouse lens visit classrooms across the county each term.

How it works

A day in our classroom

  1. 1Muster at nine. Classes gather at the compass rose for ropes, rules and the day's voyage plan.
  2. 2Work the stations. Three rotations — gallery detectives, deck drill and the boatshop — each led by our educators.
  3. 3Log the voyage. Every pupil leaves with a stamped logbook, a knot they can tie, and salt on their sleeves.

"The best trip we run. Year Five still talk about the foghorn."
